My plants take a holiday too.
It’s no secret that we don’t have green fingers. I talk about it shamelessly all the time. That even cactus dies in my hands. Haha..
But there’s one thing I really like to grow. Well, TRY to grow. And that’s herbs. So I keep a couple of pots on my kitchen window top.
Bless them, they are healthy and growing tall!

I love the scent of basil in the kitchen. And it’s so convenient to pluck a few leaves, roll them up, slice them and chuck into a soup or stew. Yum yum.
To be honest, even herb plants used to wilt within 2 days in this house. But I think I’ve finally discovered the trick to keep them alive longer. Plenty of sun, and plenty of water. I water them lightly 3 times a day.
Which means that now that the hubby and I have gone for a holiday, my little herby babies have to go our neighbours’ house for a few days. I figured they need a holiday and a change of environment too. *grin*

i have to admit that i don’t have a green thumb myself, but i sure appreciate plants especially if they look lovely like your herbies. my hubby loves to have plants in the house so it’s him who waters our houseplants. but that was when we still live in our old place. we moved to a new place 2 months ago and i told him to leave the plants outside the sunroom
. my bad all of them died, cold winter weather was too much for them. now after i saw your herbies i miss our green houseplants suddenly. so maybe one of these days we’ll buy more in walmart and hopefully ill try to be a better owner this time around.
hi Jenn, the weird thing is only herbs have grown well in our home. I would love to have a beautiful garden or even just a small greenhouse. But we really don’t have very green fingers. Haha. They always seem to die after a few days.
some of my new plants are dying at home…. haha.. but a couple are thriving! phew… your plants still look new – look at the plastic wrapping around them.
Maybe, they have good company! (think the bee… :p)
They aren’t new.. I keep the wrappers because they hold the plant together upright and they don’t bend over to the sink. They also help to remind the hubby what herbs they are! Haha…
Hi,
I like yr idea of keeping the wrappers on to help to remind us the name of the plants. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Annie, actually I kept the wrappers on to keep the plants upright. Otherwise they would bend all over the place! Haha..
