The Biggest Loser.

There’s a dog in our life here in Auckland and he’s our friends’ labrador, Cookie.

Both the hubby and I adore him because he’s got the nicest temperament ever in a dog. And he’s friendly and manja (translate: loving and cuddly). We are always happy to see Cookie.

The cutest thing about Cookie is that he’s the greediest dog we’ve ever met. Once he sees food, he’ll get so excited, he’s practically trembling. He eats everything, even durians. Yeap, we’ve tried feeding him that too. Hahaha.. so it was no surprise that when he had first arrived in our friends’ home, he was not a dog, but a polar bear. He looked like a sausage roll.

He was placed on a strict diet immediately. Just biscuits. And the occasional.. ok, more than just occasional.. treats that we gave him. Lots of fruits and vegetables. It was a weight reduction programme for the dog!

More than a year down the road, Cookie has just been awarded The Biggest Loser award by the SPCA! After losing more than 30kg!!!

Hip Hip Hooray! And guess what the price is?

A year’s supply of… FOOD! Ah DUH!

Cookie: Trying to bust my diet and make me fat, is it? Hmpf! I’m not stupid, I’ll donate all this food back to them. So that my smaller brothers and sisters can have it.

And so the food went back to SPCA and Cookie is back on his ultra healthy diet.

I told his owners, our friends, that they should just quit their jobs and start a weight management centre for dogs. And call it Doggy Expressions or Marie Cookie France or something. *grin*
