A father’s love.

The hubby has TONS of photos of the kids.

Over the years, he has accumulated 40 to 50 albums (the sticky background + transparent film kind), in which the photos were painstakingly arranged and stuck.

There was not enough cargo allowance to cart all the albums with us when we relocated, so the albums were packed and kept in our apartment in Singapore.

When we are in Singapore, I usually sleep in and the hubby would wake up early in the morning and go running or buy breakfast. But one morning last December when we were back in Singapore for the Christmas break, I woke up to find the hubby in the house. He didn’t go out at all.

Later in the day, I discovered in our DSLR camera, that he had gone through the albums and carefully snapped shots of some of the photos that morning.

If you have ever tried to take a photo of a photo, you would know that it is not a particularly easy task because you have to frame the photo, angle it such that there is no reflection and keep the photo flat at the same time. You can’t use flash, so your hands must be very steady to avoid handshake blur. In this case, because every single photo was behind transparent film on a sticky board, even more careful angling had to be done to avoid reflection.

I discovered later when I downloaded the photos that he had taken 126 shots.

I was moved by his effort. A grown man sitting in a room, going through albums and positioning a camera to get a shot of the photos. Some of the shots were taken several times before he had gotten them right.

This is a father’s love for his children.

The reward is that we have some photos of the kids’ younger years with us now.

And they are really cute.

♥♥
