Cape Town – Part 1 : A Different World.
My excitement upon arriving in Cape Town started as early as onboard the plane.
Although we did fly a small local budget airline called Mango.

Duh. What kind of airline calls itself “Mango”? And why Mango? Why not Apple? Orange? Or Watermelon?
And the thing that made me burst into laughter – the inflight magazine. It’s called Juice. Get it? Mango Juice. Wahahaha!

Oh, but don’t judge a book by its cover.. or rather, by its name.. it was a pretty efficient airline. I don’t remember the landing. Which means no bump or anything scary like that. So it must have been good. =)
Welcome to Cape Town. I was SO happy to have my first glimpse of mountainous land. I’ve missed New Zealand.

It was obvious that we were going to see the mountains no matter where we were in Cape Town. Freaking exciting.

Cape Town is a very lively, happy city. It’s alot more serene and calm than the fierce, tough, adrenaline pumping city that Joburg is in comparison.
I felt like I was back in New Zealand!

Our first stop was to the famous V&A Waterfront.
It’s like a piazza there and it was wonderful to be walking around, checking in the scene, taking in the fresh air and sea breeze. I loved it.

The waterfront Clock Tower.

I loved watching the sea birds gather at the clock tower.

Giant tankers docked at the harbour. See? The Chinese are conquering the world.

In South Africa, no matter where you go, you’ll be immersed in art. LOTS of art.

And the performances.. even the street ones.. will knock your shoes off.

I love love love Cape Town.

Look at the beautiful light at dusk. Can you imagine taking wedding pictures here? They would be spectacular!
