Philips ‘+’ Project – Taking Care of Singapore
I was unwell a few weeks ago and had spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals and Drs’ offices.
The doctors in South Africa were great. They did a proper job by asking lots of questions. One of them asked me about my lifestyle in great detail. She made me squirm with my answers. In short, I ate too much junk, drank too much wine, was not getting enough sleep and was not taking good care of my general health. Basically, she told me that my physical well-being was being badly neglected. Shame on me. =(
In those few weeks, I’ve learnt the precious lesson of looking after my health and well-being. Nothing else mattered when I had woken up every day in excruciating pain. Now that I am well and about, I know that my lifestyle choices in the past were not sustainable without causing a body system crash eventually. I am now making a huge effort to live in a more wholesome and healthy way.
It is a coincidence that Philips has just launched The ‘+’ Project in Singapore. This project is an initiative to help people in Singapore live better. They have a grand vision to meet modern day health and well-being challenges and help people lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. Sounds like a good plan to me. Kudos to them!
To accomplish that, they’ve set up a survey for Singaporeans to tell them what’s important to us and what affects our health and well being.
Just go to the website for The Philips “+” Project by Philips in Singapore and answer a few questions in the survey.
That will help Philips understand us consumers’ needs better, and you will also Stand a chance to win S$10,000 worth of prizes in their lucky draw!
I’ve done the survey myself and it is simple. It starts off by asking a few questions about yourself, like your name and the year you were born in.
And then it asks some questions about how satisfied you are with your own life.. and your view on the quality of life in Singapore.
There were some questions that were.. err.. hard to answer honestly. *gulp*
And then finally there was my favourite part of the survey, which asks for your vote for an idea towards a better and healthier living environment. Philips will make the most voted idea come to life!
I really liked the ideas “Healthier Schools, Brighter Kids” and “National Picnic Day”. And I voted for “National Picnic Day” in the end. I’ve spent several years in Auckland, New Zealand before and one of the things I had really liked about the lifestyle there was how families were out at the parks and beaches every day at 6pm or 6.30pm with their picnic baskets. Children got to spend precious family time with their parents, and adults had the space to wind down after a long day at work. I would love the idea of a National Picnic Day of that sort in Singapore! That would be pretty special.
Don’t forget to click SUBMIT for a chance to win up to S$10,000 of prizes in the lucky draw. For a double chance to win, check out the details in their website.
