Wishing Spheres for SG50

Posted on Dec 18, 2014 in Bing, Singapore

I love looking out of my office window and seeing the gorgeous Singapore Marina Bay area. It’s especially special at this time of the year as the nation gets ready for SG50, where Singapore celebrates 50 years of independence in 2015. Wishing spheres have been released into the bay waters, and they carry tons of messages of blessings and hope written by our people for Singapore. This year, I wrote my message on these large floating balls too. #iphonephotos #bloggingontheiphone  ...

National Day 2014

Posted on Aug 10, 2014 in Bing, Singapore

Last year this time, our hearts were still in South Africa. But this year, we wore red and white, waved our flags, sang National Day songs, lighted candles (and passed the flame on to fellow Singaporeans – incredibly special!) and watched the sky go ablaze with huge fireworks. Happy 49th National Day, Singapore. It’s really good to be home. #iphonephotos #bloggingontheipad...

MAAD – Market of Artists and Designers

Posted on Aug 01, 2014 in Art & Culture, Bing, Singapore

A “night market” that wasn’t a pasar malam. It was one of the most interesting night markets I’ve ever been to in Singapore and was a creative showcase of work by young and talented (local) artists. There was food, beer, a live band, art lessons, creative exhibitions, and rows of stalls displaying and selling photography work, vintage stuff, illustrations, craftwork, quirky jewellery and heaps more.. It was a fabulous evening with my girlfriends. I’m rediscovering Singapore. MAAD operates one Friday each month, from 5pm to midnight at the Red Dot Museum at 28 Maxwell Road, Singapore. For updates on the next MAAD event, check out the MAAD Facebook page. Admission is free. Remember to bring cash to do some shopping. #iphonephotos #bloggingontheipad #throwbackfriday...

MacRitchie Reservoir Tree Top Walk

Posted on Jul 29, 2014 in Bing, Nature, Singapore

An early morning walk with my family at the MacRitchie Reservoir Park and over the suspension bridge of the Tree Top Walk. I usually laze in on weekend mornings but it was heaps of fun being in the outdoors for a change, checking out the beautiful landscape that Singapore has to offer. The Tree Top Walk is a free standing suspension bridge that connects two of the highest points in MacRitchie. It’s 250m long and the highest point is 25m. Slightly weak knees here.. Who says there’s nothing to do in Singapore? Notes from the NParks website – The Tree Top Walk is approximately 4.5 km (1.5 – 2 hour walk) from the MacRitchie Reservoir Park and 2.5 km (45 mins – 1 hr walk) from the carpark at Venus Drive. Therefore, a round trip including the TreeTop Walk...
