I’m often asked what South Africa has to offer as a holiday destination. The answer is everything you want in a holiday – the mountains, the sea, the beach, culture, people, food and wineries. Plus, the safari. And isn’t the bush just the most magnificent place to go to. Whether to chill and relax or to enjoy nature at its best, or to battle it out with a delinquent elephant. This was my 6th safari trip in 3 years. I never get sick of it. This was the first time I went completely without my DSLR. It was all about family, friends, animals and nature. Cape Winelands: Franschhoek and Stellenbosch

We had started off our trip in South Africa at the Cape Winelands, where some of the most beautiful and luscious wines are produced. Franschhoek is only 30 minutes by car from Cape Town and is the loveliest little town to stay for a few days, to soak in the quaint architecture, warm atmosphere and the still peace. From there, we drove back and forth to the other nearby major wine towns like Stellenbosch and Paarl. Some of the world’s best reds and bubbles are produced in the Cape Winelands. Be sure to check out Boekenhoutskloof Wine Estate for their knockout red, The Chocolate Block. The Haute Cabriere Wine Estate for the yummiest Chardonnay Pinor Noir (which has become our favourite white now) and the finest Pierre Jourdan sparkling wines.
